"Why do I like this book so much? Because I'm crazy about Suzanne Dunaway's snappy and knowledgeable observations on the food, people, and way of life in Rome. Easy, authentic recipes plus witty commentary on Italy's liveliest city: an unbeatable combination." — Carol Field, author of In Nonna's Kitchen, Italy in Small Bites, and The Italian Baker

A lifetime may not be enough to truly know Rome, but follow Suzanne Dunaway through its markets and salumerie, lingering over the porcini, carciofi, and Pecorino Romano (you can't make spaghetti cacio e pepe without it), and you will uncover its most savory secrets. She is everything you hope for in a guide—insightful, funny, opinionated, and passionately in love with la cucina romana. This is the rare cookbook that teaches you how to live as well as to cook." —Caroline Bates, Gourmet magazine

I savored every page. Bueno degustazione!" —Noel Riley Fitch, author of Appetite for Life: The Biography of Juilia Child

"If you can't live like a Roman, you can now eat like one—a mouthwatering culinary delight." —William Murry, author of The Last Italian:Portrait of a People and City of the Soul, A Walk in Rome
